These Spacious, luxury bed and breakfast Edinburgh King Double rooms are available as either a Super King or Two single bed configuration. They are at the back of the house, quiet with a lovely view of the garden.
Both of these rooms were completely gutted and re-built from scratch to a modern 5 Star Guest House / Boutique Hotel standard. The design inspiration was Arts and Crafts in keeping with the original period features and sympathetic to the original Victorian, 1887 build. John Ruskin was the pioneer of the Arts and Crafts movement and by a sheer coincidence, John Ruskin is related to the lady of Barony House. You can read more about that here.
Being very limited on changes allowed in our strict architectural conservation area, we undertook this project as a labour of love and did most of the remodelling with our own hands. We got involved in all aspects of the detail, from stripping the walls to repairs and final decoration, hand making the head boards.
In your Guest Book you will find detailed write ups of the project and a complete history of Barony House.
During the renovation project, all period features in both rooms were retained. We took great care to replicate the traditional mouldings and skirting to ensure all modern facilities tied in with the original period architecture.
